What is Myrrh?
Share
Myrrh oil is typically sourced in Egypt, extracted from the resin of myrrh trees growing carefully along the Nile River. Because this oil’s earthy aroma promotes peace of mind and heightened awareness, the oil is still used today in many meditation practices. It also contains an abundance of skincare benefits and is often used in moisturizers, lotions and creams.
It is also a part of traditional Chinese medicine to treat various health conditions, and has been used in incense sticks for its aroma. Myrrh comes from the Arabic word murr, meaning bitter; myrrh is a sap-like substance (myrrh resin) and is bitter to the taste buds.
Myrrh is a versatile oil that’s packed with health benefits!
